What a wonderful time of year we are experiencing here as we wrap up 2015 and prepare to ring in the New Year. The HBA recently held its After Hours Christmas Banquet on Dec. 3rd. The turnout was fantastic, the food was delicious and the company of fellow industry friends was simply perfect. We were able to collect a sizable donation of coats and blankets to present to Love and Care Ministries here in Abilene.

In the words of Pastor Mark Hewitt with Love an Care Ministries “Thank you for partnering with us and making a difference in our city. Matthew 25 says, When you give to the least of these, you are giving to Jesus.”

Thanks to our members like you, someone will receive the gift of warmth this holiday season. At this time I would like to extend further thanks to the banquet committee for all their hard work and efforts in pull-ing this party together. Thank you to: Cory Withers, Jackie Thweatt, Kristi McBrayer, Graham Langley, Mitzi Merchant, and Ryan Holmes.

I would also like to thank Larry and Shea Hall for allowing us to host this event at their amazing ven-ue. The décor and ambiance was perfect for our holiday gathering. If you were able to get a caricature portrait drawn or if you stepped into the photo booth for a holiday picture then please don’t forget to thank the folks over at Security Title and Suddenlink Communications for sponsoring these fun additions to our party.

An awards presentation was held at the Christmas Banquet. It is with great pleasure that I announce Wes Stockard as Builder of the Year, Cory Withers as Associate of the Year and Zane Wright as the recipient of this years’ Raymond Thomason Award . Congratulations to each of you on this well deserved recognition.

I’ll close by thanking all of our members for another successful year in the books. Your continued support and commitment to your local HBA is the driving force behind successful events and fundraisers throughout the year. I applaud your pledge to the industry and the Abilene Community.

Looking forward to making 2016 a Great Year.
